Spain’s economy grew by 3.3% last year, according to new government data, compared with 3.2% in 2015. Ministers have forecast 2.5% growth in 2017 but say “sound” and “positive” foundations mean this may well be beaten with exports increasing and tourism booming. The State deficit, which stood at 9% in 2011, is estimated at 3.1% for this year.
