Day of Andalucia

28th February is Andalucía Day and a public holiday, it commemorates the day when autonomy was given in 1980, Andalucía now has its own flag, anthem and government body.

The capital of Andalucía is Seville where the wonderful Seville oranges and the flamenco dance come from.

The flag of Andalucía stands for hope and peace, the image on the flag is of Hercules stroking two lions between the Pillars of Hercules.
